Welcome to the devOS Wiki
devOS is an Arch Linux-based operating system built specifically for Intel Mac computers. It provides a ready-to-use Linux environment with hardware support, a preconfigured development workstation, and an installation experience designed to minimize manual configuration.
What makes devOS different?
- Hardware support configured out of the box – Wi-Fi, Broadcom firmware, audio, and trackpad drivers pre-installed
- Trackpad gestures – Natural multi-touch behavior configured from the first boot
- External display and clamshell support – Lid-close display handling works at first boot
- Preconfigured terminal and development environment – Zsh, tmux, and dev tools included
- Calamares-based graphical installation – Click-through setup, no terminal required
